Odongdo Island ~ When love is all around ♥♥

As part of Yeosu Expo tour, I got a chance to visit an island that was part of the expo venue, which called as Odongdo Island. The way to reach this place is so easy, just go to the east side of expo venue, there’ll be another gate to enter this small island. You could use ur own foot to across the bridge or spend 500KRW to use the shuttle train. At that time we used the train from Yeosu Expo to the island, and going back to the expo by foot. It’s not quite far by walked maybe around 10-15minutes, and while waiting the blue sky and the blue sea are accompanying u all around.

Let me share the story behind this island. Our tour guide, explained unfortunately using Korean language about how this island called as the land of love. Odongdo Island earned its name because of the shape of the island looks like an Odong tree leave, and also the island was covered with Odong trees, camellia and bamboo. There is a love story behind this island, about a couple in which the husband buried his wife in this island, and in the place where he buried his wife, lots of camellia bloom and covered the island, so their love remained forever. That’s why lots of young people come to this place to celebrate their love and hope their love will stay for long time. -cmiiw-

There are numerous stops along the way to explore this island. We passed by the penis tree, and stopped by in the lighthouse. From the lighthouse you could see different view, from the Yeosu Expo till the South Sea. Actually, there’re lots of places that worth to visit, such as Dragon cave and others sunrise sunset spots. At that time we watched the dancing water fountain and a wooden boat replica. Around this area you can take a ferry out around the island and some other island surrounding.

Unfortunately I just spent short time in here~by the time I visit Yeosu again, I’ll definitely will be back, there’re some part of the island I havent seen~~

So, see ya the island of love, hope I could find my love there ♥

BnBHero ~an easy way to find where to stay during ur vacation

This post gonna be my first post for my Yeosu Expo series. As an opening, I would like to share that last 9-10 June, I got a chance to visit the place that so-happening-around-Korea, Yeosu Expo. I got this experience for free as part of my duty being korea performance supporter, so Thanks A Bunch, dearest KTO!

This first post, I would like to share how easy to book a place to stay there in Yeosu. FYI, Yeosu is small city in South Jeolla Province. Through BnBHero website in http://www.bnbhero.com I could easily manage my accommodation thing during my stay in Yeosu. This website not only help you for searching apartments, rooms or vacations rental in Yeosu, but also you could search for ur vacation in other popular city in Korea such as Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island.

When trying to book the room, it was so easy, since I can logged in using my facebook ID, so I didnt need to make additional ID. Other easy thing in here is I could pay using paypal! Since I dont have any local creditcard in here, I could use my Indonesia creditcard by using paypal. So simple! Also, I could leave any specified message to the owner of the house.

The place where I stay was titled with room in apartment with best view in Yeosu, and yes, they really provide me great view during my stay. In early morning, when I open the window I could see how blue the sky and the sea was. This apartment, located in Yeochun, small city next to Yeosu. I could reach this location by using taxi or walked from city hall, and from city hall I could use the free shuttle bus provided by the expo to reach the expo venue.

But in Saturday nite, since there’s no taxi left, the owner was picking me up! She’s so nice, even it past midnite already, she still drove her own car to pick us up. Thank you so much for ur kindness ♥. Another thing that surprised me was when we arrived in house, she already cutted some fruit and prepare sikhye-traditional drink from rice- for our late snack. This owner was really a nice person. She also asked me what time I would like to be waken up on the next day. And exactly at 7am, she wake me up on the next day. just like a mom ♥ then in early morning she provided me a breakfast - kimbab, bread, egg, tomato, potato in which I had to eat them all. I ate my breakfast with her and her husband, we shared stories about family and life and promised to meet again. Feels like a family!

If you see the pictures above, my room and the view offered were exactly the same like pics they put on BnBhero website, no edit! Oh ya, I was stay here with my teammate from UEA, and other american-canadian group. I shared my room with my teammate. The room is so clean, and the toilet as well. Felt so comfortable to spend the nite there. For 50bucks I spent in here, it was worth *actually, it’s free since KTO will reimburse me later, kkk*

If you also wanna meet this nice owner and had same experience with me, just book this place on the following link: http://www.bnbhero.com/rooms/184 Enjoy!
