This is the second part of final day in R16

Continue from my previous post, in the second day on last Sunday, I went to the same place Olympic Hall, Seoul Olympic Park to see the second part of R16 final. That day event was focus on Crew battle which means group bboy battle. This time I came late again, and fortunately I manage to get VIP ticket, and once again I seated alone :’(

On that day, USA representative, Massive Monkees, was the winner of the competition. They beated Simple System in the final, Jinjo Crew from Korea in the semifinal and Found Nation from Japan in quarters. IMO, the final was a bit boring since Massive Monkees dominated their opponent. I think that the real final was on the semifinal part, when Massive Monkees need to be face to face with Korea’s representative.

Also on that day, Uhlala session and Cube sound gave their special performance on stage. The thing I remember the most is in the closing part, I thought that Park Jaebum will not come, then suddenly when the stadium almost became empty, he’s came and said couple says of thank you! He even took pics with the contestants and he’s so cute.

So, that day closed up the series of R16 on 10 30 PM ~ Thanks again KTO for giving me a chance to be part of this event. I’ll see you again, R16 next year :)

1st Day of R16 Dance Competition Final Round

Last saturday, as part of the R16 stories, I went to Seoul Olympic Hall in Olympic Stadium line number 5 exit no.3 for watching the final round in which dancer from all over the world were coming here to Korea and their to give their best to be the number one. The final round was divided into two parts, the first part happened in saturday which contained the final round for poppin, locking, and individual bboy. Meanwhile the second part happened in Sunday when the final round for crew battle or group bboy dancing happened. The event started at 6pm. I came here alone but on the entrance gate I met Andrea’s friend, Maria and we took couple pics together.

I came late at that day, so KTO gave me not the VIP ticket but the S ticket. Meanwhile Maria got the VIP ticket, so we seperated. Turned out that I was sitting in the first row but on the left side of the stage. Since I couldnt see the stage properly I moved to the higher place and then a twist happen, a little girl suddenly show up n went to my previous seat to give present to Park Jaebum!! So the person that supposed to be sit next to me was him!!! So stupid that I moved to other place :’(

Back to the show then~the hosts for this event still the same with the one in Uijongbu event, park jaemin and the other one I forgot the name and he’s using wheelchair on stage. The event opened up with the showcase from all judges. It was awesome because as expected all the judges are the famous name in dancing world, and they’re dancing so awesome. The judges for popping category is Suga Pop USA, Iron Mike - France, and Poppin J from Korea. The judges from Locking category is TOni Basil France, Suga Pop USA, and Takashi from Japan. The last category, individual bboy, the judges are Ken Swift, ORB, & Abstract from USA, Cico Italy and Born from Korea.

The winner for Popping category is Boogaloo Kin from Korea, he beated Snow from Taiwan in the final round, Hozin from Japan in semifinal round, and Bibi from China in quarters. The winner for Locking category is Benson from Taiwan, he beated Cio, a girl from Japan in the final, Suzuki Yusuke from Japan in semifinal, and Kyrgyzstan representative, Zhan Funky on quarters. The winner for Solo Bboy is Issei from Japan he beat Roxrite from the USA in finals, Blue in the semifinal and Hong10 from Korea in the quarters. Their performances was awesome I kept screaming seeing how they did unbeliveable movement. Congrats anyway!

Besides that, there’re performance from KRNFX from Canada, and Blue Whale Bros. I would like to mention the latter one, sine their dancing concept was awesome - which is shadow: one person become the other person’s shadow and imitate all the dances in sync way~ so cool! Then came the duo of The Quiett and Dok2. Our R16 ambassador also went on stage, sang duet with The Quiett and Dok2, also sang his famous song.

I was so glad to be part of the event, n those who didnt came to the venue could watch it lively at home since it was broadcasted live in KBSN. I enjoyed the show eventough I had to run to catch the last train since the event was finish at 11pm ^^

So, look forward to join ur next event next year, R16 :)

@R16Korea and the story continued~~

Have u guys read my previous story about party with Park Jaebum who selected as this year R16 dance competition ambassador? Last saturday, June 23, was the second story of R16, it’s the elimination phase for participant in Korea. For you who doesnt know what R16 is, I’ll share u a glimpse of it. R16 (R stands for Respect) is annual dance competition since 2007 that 3 different categories: Popping, Locking, and Group battle. There are 16 countries participated in this event, unfortunately my beloved Indonesia isnt part of it :( However, if u wanna know the detail just go to their official website in http://www.r16korea.com or u could follow their twitter account @R16Korea

Actually I didnt manage to get the ticket from KTO by myself, my friends Mbak Indri & mas Ridwan shared their one ticket for me so I still can join the event, thanks mas & mbak! The elimination event itself was held in Uijongbu Art Hall, that located 15-20minutes by foot from line 1 Uijongbu subway station. At that day, I used village bus 208 from the bus stop near exit 1 of the subway station.

In the venue, I met other Indonesians and Andrea, latin American that celebrated her bday on that day. After we managed to grab the ticket, we decided to have an early dinner since the show would start from 7pm to 10pm. At 6.30pm we could enter the art hall, and we got a very good stage, it was so close from the stage. The show itself was broadcast live in KBS-N at that time, so is there any of u who see my face on TV again? Btw, I posted my story live on my official account @JalanJalanKpop

Just like a world cup, for each part there are 8 contestants, in the first session there’s head-to-head, the winner goes to semifinal, and then there’ll be one contestant that will represent Korean from each category. The first part was the elimination for popping. Based on Wiki, Popping stands for kind of dance that quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in the dancer’s body, referred to as pop or a hit. This is done continuously to the rhythm of a song in combination with various movements and poses.

The second part was the game for locking. If you go to search it on Google, Locking refers to kind of dance that freezing from a fast movement and “locking” in a certain position, holding that position for a short while and then continuing in the same speed as before. It relies on fast and distinct arm and hand movements combined with more relaxed hips and legs.

For both Popping and Locking the contestants are individual and the winner based on how many judges vote for the contestant. There are 3 judges in each part; and the judges are famous person in the world of hiphop.

The third part was the group battle game, and this is the most interesting one. A group of dancers did head-to-head battle with other group of dancers, teasing everywhere and showing up their skills. They performed amazing skill and variety of dance, they flipped, split, rolled, made human body as a stage or pendulum, etc, etc, etc..awesome!

I had an interesting story about this performance event. In the beginning I thought that the R16 ambassador will do a performance, since in the poster they put a showcase by JayPark. Till the event was finished at late 11PM - the show was ended up very late - I didnt see any of singing of performance by Park Jaebum, so I tweeted in my account stated that Jaebum wasnt come. Then, one of my follower said that I was wrong and she said that Jaebum was part of Korea Assasin group and did the group dance battle. I was so shocked! I asked other foreigners friends about this, and they also didnt realized about his existence on stage -___-” Maybe because he was too blended with other dancer, everyone in the group wore the same costume so none of us were realized him.

But, however, next July 7-8 I would watch the big event, R16 and see the competition from 16 participant country so I could meet Park Jaebum again! So, wait for my update later ya~~

The story of Korean Wave Concert and Big O Show in Yeosu

I supposed to share my journey in expo tour first, but this post is easier to write. Turned out that this concert also broadcasted live on TV. My friend said she saw my face on the screen ~ omo. I was seating next to KTO boss and the mastermind of Expo Yeosu. You know what, the mastermind of this great Expo is came from Swiss and his mom is Indonesian, so he spoke Bahasa Indonesia with me even in slang language ~ I am so proud to see him. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask his name card. Hope KTO could help me later on with this matter?

However, let me share the story. The Korean Wave Concert was held at Big O main stage in Yeosu Expo, June 9, from 7pm. Since I got this journey for free from KTO I also managed to get the VIP seat! Super duper thanks, KTO! The line up that day was Park Jaebum, BTOB, A Pink but then replaced with 4Minute, and uri B2ST!! Hearing the lineup already made me feel so excited! I did live tweet in my official JalanJalanKpop twitter timeline at that time.

Before the show begin, I even got a chance to see BTOB and B2ST attendance from their cars, u could see the vid in my youtube video. The showed was opened by dance performance, then the duo MCs from Arirang Showbiz News came up, Adrien Lee and Lee Yeunmi. The KTO Boss also gave some opening speech, and afterward, our hottest guy in the nite, Park Jaebum came up on stage. He’s so charming and awesome. He sang 4 songs, I just wanna know ur name, beautiful girls by Bruno Mars, girlfriend, and other song I forgot the title but he sing this part while wearing sunglasses, soooo handsome ♥

Then the next performance was the rookie from Cube Ent, BTOB, they sang their debut hits, Insane and Monday to Sunday and song to commemorate Father’s Day, Aboji. Next, another Cube artist came up. It’s 4minute!! Unfortunately, Gayoon didnt came because she’s sick. Only with 4members, these girls rocked the stage with their newest song Volume up and Mirror Mirror.

The last performer was my favorite group, B2ST. This is my sixth time meet ayang gikwang tayang tayang and this is the closest one to see his face! He looked so tired, not only him but other B2st members too :( They opened their performance with Shock~~they successfully shocked us all ^^ Continue with their famous song, Fiction and On rainy days. For the encore part, my favorite song, Beautiful!! One of KTO officer is also B2UTY, her biased in JS; so nice to meet other B2UTY kkk.

After the concert finished at almost 9pm, we took a pics with other Korea Performance Supporters and KTO officers while waiting for the Big O Show. Big O show is a must seen performance there in Yeosu. The Big O stage was covered with combination of water, laser and fire! The Big O Show also combine musical and dancing performance. If you have been visited Singapore, Song of The Sea, u’ll have a similar experience there. FYI, Big O is the floating stage in the sea, the show was amazing!

Once again, thanks thanks thanks KTO for giving me this chance. For those who wanna see the artists’ performance u could see on my previous post in this link. Enjoy!
